Features wider straps
Many people may find that footwear with a thong strap feels restrictive on the feet, don't they?
At Yukimito, we design our straps to be thicker by inserting a cushion into the core.
This cushion softens the pressure on the contact areas, and the wider design helps to ease tightness by distributing contact over a larger surface.
Use of low-resilience material
The footplate features a thicker-than-standard cushioning material as a default (excluding edge-wrapped footplates).
Since this is where you rest your feet, we want to ensure comfort and provide the best possible feel underfoot to help reduce fatigue.
An option to upgrade to an even thicker cushioning material is also available.
Commitment to meeting specific needs
We began offering made-to-order setta sandals with the desire to "deliver a unique pair that meets the needs of each individual customer."
On our e-commerce site, in addition to selecting materials and designs, you can also adjust the length of the thong (hanao) and change the footbed to a high-rebound material.
If you have any other requests, please contact us via our official LINE account, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Everyday footwear, setta
Setta are often thought of as footwear meant only for special occasions like wearing kimonos or yukata. We have intentionally chosen casual patterns and materials because we want you to wear them more often and enjoy a colorful variety.
For the soles, we use cushioned and slip-resistant materials to ensure they are comfortable to walk in, even on asphalt or concrete.
We plan to continue adding more materials in the future, as we hope to make setta feel like a more familiar part of your everyday life.
Recycled material foot box, scrap fabric tags
We use recycled materials for the shoe boxes and fabric scraps for the tags.
While we wouldn't go as far as to call it an ambitious SDG initiative, we strive to be environmentally friendly and minimize waste in our manufacturing process.
Each tag is embossed one by one with care.
Tips for Choosing the Right Size
The stylish way to wear setta is to have your heels hang off the back slightly!
It is said that the chic way to wear them is to hook the thong (hanao) with your toes.
Since the thong is centered, your little toes may stick out, but this is also a unique characteristic of wearing setta.
Of course, if you prefer, choosing a size where your heels don't hang off for appearance or peace of mind is also perfectly fine, just like wearing sandals!
About the Hanao (Thong)
The standard height for the thong attachment (satsubo) is 14mm, with 9mm being tighter and 16mm being looser.
If you would like a different fit, please specify this via our official LINE or in the order notes.
Example 1: Wearing it
Usual shoe size: 27.0–28.0
When wearing size L
I usually wear a size 2L, but when I tried them on, the size L felt more comfortable.
In the photo, my heel was sticking out a little, but it didn't feel awkward at all when walking.
You can let your heel hang off slightly and slide them on for a stylish look.
When wearing size 2L
It's the perfect size, just as it looked in the photos.
With a sole that extends all the way to the heel, they feel secure and comfortable to wear.
Example 2
Usual shoe size: 25.5–26.5
When wearing size L
Even if your heel looks like it's sticking out a bit, the fit is just right.
I think it's a good fit if you wear them by hooking your toes through the strap.
When wearing size 2L
If you're choosing by size, neither L nor 2L feels like a problem.
L is a just-right fit, while 2L offers a more secure feel when worn.
I prefer the look where the sole extends all the way to the heel, so I'll choose the 2L size for that sense of security.
Example 3
Usual shoe size: 23.5–24.5
When wearing size S
Although it looked like my heels were hanging off a bit in the photos, I didn't notice it at all when I actually wore them.
With the size S, perhaps because the center of gravity shifts forward, I felt I could stand straight and walk more easily.
It seems that wearing them with your heels slightly hanging off is the stylish way to wear setta sandals.
When wearing size M
It's the perfect size, just as it appeared in the photos.
Since the base extends all the way to the heel, it feels very secure and comfortable to wear.
If you prefer a snug fit, I recommend the size M.
Example of Use 4
Usual shoe size: 22.0–23.0
When wearing size S
If you're choosing by size, you won't mind either S or M.
S is a true-to-size fit, while M offers a more secure feel.
If you prefer to have your heel fully covered, size M is also a great option!
When wearing size M
I have wide feet, so I choose size M.
If you want a snug fit all the way to the heel or have wider feet, size M is recommended!
I want people to experience setta through a new bespoke approach
We deliver one-of-a-kind, original setta sandals, customized by combining the straps, base, and sole. We are taking the first step of this new journey right here.
Not just another pair among mass-produced goods
A pair tailored to each individual's taste. A pair designed by each person with someone in mind. A one-of-a-kind matching pair for everyone.
To keep the flame of tradition alive
Setta sandals are produced through many different processes.
Declining consumption, a shrinking number of craftspeople, and a lack of successors...
If even one process is missing, they cannot be produced.
The challenge of building an in-house, integrated production system.
Making setta a familiar part of your fashion
The word "setta" often conjures up images of traditional Japanese attire, yukata, or kimono—things worn only for special occasions.
We want people to wear them casually in their everyday lives, and with that in mind,
we are introducing a new line of setta featuring unique patterns and materials.
